Yes - but this does not need to be done before deck creation. We put the ‘massive amounts of spreadsheets’ _after_ the deck in the program on purpose. You will need a basic model for your deck, but not the hard core model to get going. Also, you can spend way to much time working a model that may not survive first contact. The other parts in our deck are more important. We will go in depth on the model in Week 9 of the program.

Good to know that we will get some templates. Do you have a slide example on how a basic model should be represented?

We typically do not want to share templates because when we do, everyone copies them. However, your deck should have the following slides:

Returns - show 3 company exit scenarios that the model is based on
Allocation - show the number of investments that the fund will make, along with the stage and ownership percentage
Liquidity -show 3 portfolio scenarios (i.e. Low, Medium, High) based on different distributions of the exit scenarios in the Returns slide
