Management fees are typically charged on top of the committed capital, not built into it. If your first close is at $1M, the management fees would be calculated based on that amount and charged separately, usually as a percentage of the committed capital.
The management fees are paid for by LPs from committed capital. In other words, the closed capital covers investments, management fees and fund expenses.
