On October 15, 2026, Woody Butler walked us through what's shipped in Decile Hub over the past few weeks. Kelly Schricker hosted.
Decile Hub is the agentic operating system for a VC firm. It covers the CRM, the deal pipeline, the back office, LP onboarding, events, newsletters and an accounting suite, and it's free for anyone in a Decile Group program.

Below is everything he showed, from the data room AI to the pitch practice tool.
Dark mode
Starting with the one people have asked for longest. You can switch Hub between dark and light in your settings, and Woody ran the whole demo in dark mode because that's his preference.
Your data room can answer questions now
This is the feature we think managers will get the most out of, and we've been using it on our own fundraising.
You can turn on a visitor AI for any data room, and it's off by default so you keep control of it. Once it's on, an LP opening your data room can ask questions about the files instead of downloading everything and loading it into their own tools.
Woody demoed it on a pitch deck, financial model and operating plan. He asked what the current traction was and got the answer back out of the deck.
Then he asked what percentage pre-seed investors would own after a $1 million round at a $6 million post-money valuation, and it went into the Excel model and did the math.
The part you control is the suggested questions. There's no default set, so you write them yourself, and they're how you steer an LP through the narrative you want them to follow.
You can also see what people asked. Alongside the existing view of which files each visitor opened, and how long they spent on each page, you can now read the conversations they had with your data room. That tells you what they care about and what isn't clear.
On permissions, Woody explained why Hub keeps access control at the data room level rather than per folder. Folder-level permissions were too easy to misconfigure. If you need two levels of access, run two data rooms, and in practice that's usually all anyone needs.
Pitch practice with a voice you can argue with
The audio didn't come through on the recording, which is a shame, because this is the one Woody spent the longest on.
You pick who you're pitching. Friend, angel, or institutional investor, each with its own difficulty and its own level of knowledge. Then you talk, out loud, and it talks back.
Woody started pitching a health tech fund thesis to the friend persona and it pushed back exactly the way a friend would, by not knowing how a venture fund works in the first place. The institutional persona asks for higher-level metrics instead.
We trained it on the questions and objections managers actually get at each of those levels. Woody's description of the voice is that it's indistinguishable from a phone call, with low enough latency that you can interrupt it.
Kelly made the point about why we built it at all. A CRM is a CRM, and there are 15 of those. The thing we kept hearing from managers was that confidence is the early hurdle, and the only fix is reps in a low-stakes setting.
Events, rebuilt
The old events system was a lighter version of Eventbrite. The new one looks closer to Luma or Partiful.
You get a modern event builder with stock images, in-person or virtual, capacity limits and waiting lists. You can save it as a draft, preview the public page, and send yourself test emails before anything goes out.
Inviting people is the part that benefits from being inside Hub. You can invite everyone in your account, all your closed investors, a whole pipeline, or only specific stages of it, and Hub tells you how many prospects that adds up to before you send.
Anyone who registers lands in your account as a contact with their email history attached, so the event feeds the pipeline instead of sitting in a separate tool.
Newsletters and the MCP
Hub newsletters now let you target a group and then exclude named people from it with one click, which is useful when most of a list should get something and two people shouldn't.
The bigger change is that Hub's API and MCP can now do everything the interface can. MCP is what lets an AI assistant talk to your Hub account with a guidebook for how to use it, and it works with whatever assistant you prefer.
Woody built the newsletter he showed us by asking Claude to read his deal flow pipeline, go into the deal memos and materials, work out why those deals are compelling, and write it up. Then he asked for it in yellow, because that's his favorite color.
He also recommended that as a fundraising tactic in its own right. Writing about the deals you're looking at and why you're excited gives your LPs something to react to, and it shows them the companies they'd otherwise never see.
Dex keeps getting better
If you'd rather not connect your own assistant, Dex is the agent inside Hub and it runs on the same MCP.
Woody's investor dashboard opened with Dex telling him that one prospect had gone cold with no recent contact, and that nine LPs had signed while three were still waiting on signatures. There's a one-click nudge to sign.
He drafted an outreach email inside Hub, then asked for it more formal and bold, and it rewrote while keeping his edits. Woody says the team improves Dex every week.
A smaller one for Start Fund and Partners accounts
You can now set a default LPA investment amount, which is the number an LP sees the first time they open the agreement.
You can set it per fund, or per individual capital account, or leave it blank. If most people come in at one level and you have someone writing a much larger check, you can set their suggested amount higher.
What it costs
Decile Hub is free if you're in one of our programs or working with us, and there are no usage limits on the AI features today. Woody was straight about the fact that heavy AI usage may eventually carry a charge.
What to do with this
- Turn the visitor AI on for your live data room and write three suggested questions that lead an LP where you want them to go.
- Read the visitor conversations after your next few LP meetings, because what people ask tells you what your materials aren't covering.
- Move your events into Hub so registrations land in your pipeline instead of a separate tool.
- Connect your assistant over MCP, then ask it to draft your next LP newsletter from your own pipeline.
