Personal travel costs can technically be charged as a fund expense if they serve the purpose of doing work for the fund. However, many Limited Partners (LPs) may have issues with this, as such expenses are often considered part of the job and are typically covered by management fees. Therefore, these costs are usually handled at the Management Company (ManCo) level.
