This is not as straightforward as it may seem and we cannot provide tax advice but the answer is likely no in our experience.
Per the form instructions, “You must check the box that represents your classification (for example, corporation, partnership, trust, estate, etc.) under U.S. tax principles (not under the law of a treaty country).”
While international organization may sound appropriate, two conditions must be met to qualify as such:
- Its income does not benefit private persons
- It has been designated by a U.S. Presidential Executive Order as being entitled to the privileges, exemptions, and immunities under the International Organizations Immunities Act.
